چکیده
Global warming is caused by excessive CO2 production, and reducing emissions a viable way to counteract this. It has been extensively studied how light-driven processes, particularly photocatalytic systems, can transform solar energy into chemical energy. In the present review exercise, mechanism of reduction described using calculations based on density functional theory (DFT), comparisons are also made with regard typical devices. Additionally, traits potential materials—including metal–organic frameworks (MOFs), metal complexes, oxide, Z-scheme (metal complexes/semiconductors, two semiconductors, dye-sensitized semiconductors), improved S-scheme organic photocatalyst etc.—are in depth show these affect adsorption, activation, desorption processes. Also summarized number methods for enhancing selectivity efficiency catalytic reactions. Lastly, challenges future outlook reactions presented.

SrNb2O6 nanoplates as efficient photocatalysts for the preferential reduction of CO2 in the presence of H2O.
We successfully synthesized SrNb2O6 with nanoplate morphology by a facile hydrothermal method. The SrNb2O6 nanoplate without any promoters or co-catalysts exhibited promising photocatalytic performance for the preferential reduction of CO2 with H2O vapour to CO and CH4 due to its high electron-hole separation and high CO2 chemisorption abilities.

New supramolecular photocatalysts comprising an asymmetric bis-tridentate Ru(ii) complex that functions as a photosensitizer and a Ru(ii) carbonyl complex as the catalyst were designed. The complexes photocatalyzed the reduction of CO2 to CO or formic acid with high selectivity. The product distribution depended on the catalyst unit. CO and formic acid were the main products when using [Ru(BL)(...
متن کاملOpen framework metal chalcogenides as efficient photocatalysts for reduction of CO2 into renewable hydrocarbon fuel.
Open framework metal chalcogenides are a family of porous semiconducting materials with diverse chemical compositions. Here we show that these materials containing covalent three-dimensional superlattices of nanosized supertetrahedral clusters can function as efficient photocatalysts for the reduction of CO2 to CH4. Unlike dense semiconductors, metal cations are successfully incorporated into t...

New Ru(II)-Re(I) supramolecular photocatalysts with a rhenium(I) biscarbonyl complex as a catalyst unit were synthesized. They photocatalyzed CO2 reduction to CO using a wide-range of visible light, and their photocatalytic abilities were strongly affected by the phosphorus ligands on the Re site. Especially, Ru-Re(FPh), with two P(p-FPh)3 ligands, exhibited tremendous photocatalytic properties...
متن کاملSolar Light Photocatalytic CO2 Reduction: General Considerations and Selected Bench-Mark Photocatalysts
The reduction of carbon dioxide to useful chemicals has received a great deal of attention as an alternative to the depletion of fossil resources without altering the atmospheric CO2 balance. As the chemical reduction of CO2 is energetically uphill due to its remarkable thermodynamic stability, this process requires a significant transfer of energy. Achievements in the fields of photocatalysis ...
